NikNak Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 Let's see now........ I've had a Ruth Rover, a Felicity Fiesta, and even a Vivien Viva (Vauxhall to you youngens..... :P ). So this one being a bit more expensive and a bit grander (after all, it's Ford that claim it's 'First Class' travel....... ), I think she ought to be called Geraldine Galaxy Nick....... Merry Xmas Ho Ho Ho ! ! ! (Ho Ho Ho ?? it wont be when you get the bill in for it in Jan, it'll be "Oh no, oh no, oh no...... :( ) Quote
Guest Paul Collins Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 I've had a Ruth Rover, a Felicity Fiesta, and even a Vivien Viva (Vauxhall to you youngens..... ). My mum had a Fiesta named Felicity She didn't like it when we used to ask if we could borrow "Facility" :( Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 Mine gets referred to as "my car" as distinct from "your car" for my wife's - either that or just "The Galaxy".Maybe I should call it Ivor too (Ivor D Engine as distinct from E Tower, as it has a Diesel engine). Quote
iainkirk Posted December 14, 2003 Author Report Posted December 14, 2003 Ahhhh yes.... "She" forgets that it's MY car.....except when it needs washing/mucking out etc... Quote

Guest Daveb Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 I refer to it as the "Tank" because when the wife is driving everybody gets out of the way. and oh yes she never puts fuel in as she doesnt know where to put it and she says its far too big for her to wash.but I dont think Iam the only one who suffers this this. HJT Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Mine's referred to at work as "The Bus". We had a Granada called "Gracie" and a Fiesta called "Rosie" (don't ask, nothing to do with me!). Howard Quote
kalel Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 The Gal is "Potempkin", I had the impression of sitting on a cruisers bridge at first testdrive. Quote
Richmond Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Ours is called 'The Galaxy' to avoid confusion with 'The Peugeot'. Works for us. Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Batmobile at work. "Yours" at home. Quote
Guest Nik Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 A friend of mine call it the "funeral car". As it isn't enough, my father in law also does  (here in belgium we use a french word for it: "corbiard", it sounds more like a nickname) ... because it's a black solid one, with dark tinted windows (as you probably can see in my avatar). Ivor_E_Tower Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 Is she foreign (or are you going to tell us how to pronounce these expressions)? Quote
seatkid Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 Well worked out! duzego auta = big carmaly wus = small car Quite boring really, though she usually appends (in Polish) " I hate that car " to the Golfs name - a reference to the internal size and the fact shes always hits her head when she gets out! Quote
Guest siroccoman Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 I have a 4 year old Land Rover Defender Td5 90 (www.landrover-td5-90.co.uk) that I call LUCY. The wife has never known why, but if she reads this she will, and I will be in deep S**T  Lucy is named after an old girlfriend, Rough round the edges, not very well built, unreliable, cost a fortune to look after and treat, goes ABSOLUTELY ANYWHERE, BUT BOY what a BLOODY FANTASTIC ride :o . Dave Quote
seatkid Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004   Dave, there are somethings in life you should never discuss lest....... :o Quote
Guest Nik Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 maybe there's more at www.sciroccos_horny_lucy.co.uk ? ;) (scirocco, excuse me boy, but I have the wildest thoughts at what you posted  ) Quote
Guest siroccoman Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Thanks for that Fredt. Missed the 'o' out of landrover ;) All amended now. Must also put some piccies up of the newr additions to the fleet. Ie. the Galaxy & Mondeo. Fortunately, the wife has not YET seen this posting. ;) ;) ;) Dave Quote
Taliska Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 My Galaxy is the first car that I've ever named - called her 'Molly'. In true spirit of keeping the kids happy, I named my wife's car (Seat Cordoba Vario) very soon after - she's called 'Milly'. So we have 'Milly' and 'Molly' - I like twosomes! Taliska Quote
italiastar Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 (Mind you, her Vectra is called Vicky, or is it Victor???) Having been through a few Vectra's (thankfully none of them mine) I can certainly think of a few names to call them - Vicky is certainly not one of them. Mind you after reading some of the horror stories on this forum I'm wondering if the Vectras were really that bad? For the record, mine is "The Alhambra" and hers is "The Golf" Quote
ALARM MAN Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 I call it the van so my wife then will not speak to me Quote
